Another Week of Favorites

I am late again in joining with my friends over at Susanne's blog, Living to Tell the Story for Friday's Fave Five, so I will get started on some of the good things in my life this past week.

New clothes - Yesterday, Charly and I did a little shopping.  We put on our masks and went to a couple of stores we like and I was fortunate to find several tops, of the style I like to wear.  They were on a great sale, so I came home with some new school clothes. When I put them in my closet, I decided that since I had some new tops, I should go through my closet and weed out tops that I no longer liked, were the wrong size, or that I had just plain worn out. This is something I like to do periodically, and last night seemed like as good of time as any to get it done.

These are some of the tops I got out of my closet and into the  "donate bag." It feels good to have a few new things and also to have my closet more organized.

New Willow Tree -  When Charly and I were out shopping, we went to a thrift store, where I found, in their collectable case, this Willow Tree figure which I did not have.  The thrift store had marked the price way down, so I decided to get it.

It makes a perfect addition to my Willow Tree collection.  Each of the figures in my collection represents something from my marriage and family.  I love this very special collection that represents the people I love most.

Mask project done for now - I finished sewing these masks last week and put them aside in case anyone asks me for some masks. I am finished sewing masks, at least for now.

I cleaned up my sewing area and took my sewing machine in for a good cleaning and maintenance check-up.  The masks making was a fun and important project for me over the past few months, but I am glad to be finished with it, at least for right now.  My final tally on masks made and given away or donated is 358.

Starting a puzzle - Instead of putting my sewing table away, I decided to use it for a puzzle.  I haven't done a puzzle for a long time, and it was enjoyable to start this one last night.  I still have a way to go with it.

Peacock - I don't watch a lot of TV, but I was kind of excited this week to get this new free streaming service called Peacock.  I am hopeful that it will give us a few more viewing choices for those times when we just want to sit and watch something interesting.

Zoom book club meeting - One of the two book clubs I am part of decided to hold a zoom meeting this week.  It was a short meeting because we hadn't met for months and weren't actually all been reading the same book, but it was great to check in with each other and we have scheduled another, longer meeting for August 5.

Fresh from the garden -  we have been enjoying more goodness from my small garden and last night we had fresh green beans, that were oh, so good!  I love garden fresh green beans!

Painting project finished - Charly finished the painting of the wrought iron portion of our patio fence.  It looks great.  Charly is a very good and meticulous painter.

Maintenance and repairs   - This has been a week of taking care of necessary maintenance and repairs at our house.  Yesterday, the dishwasher repairman came.  The motor on the dishwasher is going out, but should last until the repairman can get the new motor and replace the old one - probably next week.

We also had to have a toilet repaired earlier in the week.  I am glad we have found good technicians we can call when we need to, because neither Charly and I are great at DIY home repairs.

Those are some of my simple yet great blessings this week.  Now for the weekend.
