Gallant - Ology (2016, Label: Mind Of A Genius). (06/04). Album d'esordio per Christopher Gallant. Aveva precedentemente pubblicato nel 2014 l'EP Zebra.

Ology è un album costruito su sonorità sintetiche, con dosi massicce di soul e urban hip hop. La scaletta offre così i burialismi di Bone + Tissue, le voci all'elio di Counting, i suoni vellutati di Miyazaki, l'eleganza di Weight in Gold, i breaks di Percogesic e i vocalizzi in falsetto di Episode.

Un lavoro che va in profondità, nei suoni e nei testi, ma che non rinuncia ad essere orecchiabile, riprendendo in un certo senso la lezione alternative-pop di The weeknd.

Così lo stesso Gallant ha parlato del senso del suo album: "The whole album is about me trying to dig as deep as really could and as a result it felt like I had put myself up on a chopping board, ready for dissection. A lot of the time I felt like there wasn’t really any conclusion to this, nor a starting point so it kind of became this big rambling lecture about myself in someway, so the ‘ology’ represents that, the endless pursuit of looking a little bit more, learning a little bit more."

Da segnalare le collaborazioni di Jhené Aiko. Consigliato a chi ama la musica di Kwabs, Zhu e The weeknd. I brani migliori sono Bourbon e Weight in Gold, a seguire Miyazaki e Percogesic.
